“…Panaji Will Turn Desolate!” Vishwajit Rane strongly defends casinos

The minister also made a controversial remark about staging a road blockade

TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane made a controversial statement saying he would bring 40,000 people from Sattari to Panjim and stage a road blockade (chakka jam). Along with this remark, he strongly defended the casinos operating in the Mandovi River.

Rane predicts that if casinos are shifted out of the Mandovi, Panjim would become deserted like Mormugao.

“If casinos are removed from Panaji, the city will become deserted like Mormugao,” said the TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane strongly defended casinos, stating that their removal would severely impact the city’s vibrancy and economy.

Rane also criticised the campaign led by Justice Ferdino Rebello, stating that merely presenting a Citizen Charter will not solve anything, and challenged them to suggest concrete solutions instead.

He made these statements during the foundation laying ceremony of a bridge in Sanvordem.
