What value do ministers' verbal announcements hold? asks Amarnath Panjikar

Congress leader Amarnath Panjikar questioned a minister's announcement on handing over the Campal Ground to the CCP

How can a minister announce that the Campal Ground will be handed over to the CCP without a departmental meeting, Cabinet approval, or completing the required administrative procedures? questioned Congress leader Amarnath Panjikar.

He said the announcement is merely verbal and has no official value, alleging that it is an attempt by the government to mislead the public. Panjikar was reacting to Minister Vishwajit Rane's statement that the Campal Ground would be handed over to the CCP.
