Two students hospitalised after taking excess iron tablets

Two schoolgirls were hospitalised after allegedly consuming five iron and folic acid tablets each during a school health programme in Colvale. Both are stable.

Two girls were admitted to the Mapusa District Hospital after allegedly consuming five iron and folic acid tablets each during a school health programme at a higher secondary school in Colvale. The prescribed dosage was one tablet per week.

The students complained of vomiting and uneasiness and are currently reported to be stable, and under medical observation.
