Sunday’s protests at Azad Maidan in Panjim has raised some new questions. Should Azad Maidan no longer remain azad (free)? Should its name be changed? The property belongs to the CCP (Corporation of the City of Panaji), and is meant for public use, and so, Azad Maidan belongs to the public.

These are some of the points raised by noted personalities, Justice (Retd) Ferdino Rebello and environmentalist Claude Alvares, who are not only activists, but also seniors.
