- On Wednesday, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari emphasised the potential of converting agricultural waste into a valuable national resource, describing bio‑bitumen as a key step towards India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He was speaking at CSIR’s Technology Transfer Ceremony titled 'From Farm Residue to Road: Bio-Bitumen via Pyrolysis'.
- The central government has sanctioned Rs 1,078.13 crore from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for several major road projects in Gujarat, following a high-level review in Gandhinagar on 25 November 2025 with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
- The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai has reported that a well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression, moving west-northwest at around 18 kmph. The system is expected to strengthen into a deep depression within the next 15 hours, raising the likelihood of widespread rainfall and rough seas along parts of the Tamil Nadu coast. A yellow alert has been issued for Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, and Karaikal districts on Thursday and Friday, warning of heavy rainfall at isolated locations.
