Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that over the past seven years, he has observed that some teachers are not giving 100% effort to their work.
He said the role of teachers is not limited to helping students graduate, as degrees can also be obtained externally, but extends to shaping careers. He added that if each teacher mentors 10 students every year, unemployment can be eliminated.
He further said teachers must think out of the box, stating that traditional degrees like BA, BCom and BSc alone are not sufficient, as many students remain jobless. He called on teachers to guide students towards self-employment, job support and counselling.
The remarks were made at the inauguration of the Ahilya Girls Hostel.
