Sudin Dhavalikar credits CM Sawant for success of PWD Labour Society

MGP leader and Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said he began efforts to establish the PWD Labour Society in the year 2000, and it was successfully formed in 2004 with the support of Pratapsingh Rane and the late Manohar Parrikar. 

He said contract workers were paid only Rs 200 a day and were often exploited, with many being made to do personal work. Despite facing criticism, he continued the initiative along with Adv Bandodkar of Fatorda, Margao.

Dhavalikar said the Labour Society now provides employment to around 2,500 workers. He added that he does not take personal credit for its success, and instead, dedicated the credit to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
