Sudeep Tamhankar questions Quepem RTO officer over taxi registrations

RTI activist Sudeep Tamhankar visited the Quepem RTO and questioned ADT Rajesh Shetye over the alleged registration of taxis in the name of an outsider. Tamhankar alleged that the taxis were registered to Agarwal, a resident of West Bengal, claiming the registrations deprived five Goans of employment opportunities. 

He also alleged that the registrations were carried out after a bribe was accepted, a charge denied by Shetye, who said the registrations followed due legal procedure. Tamhankar has submitted a complaint to the Director of Transport seeking the ADT's suspension pending an inquiry and claimed that Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has directed the director to take action.
