Goa’s ICAR-CCARI wins national water award for water conservation
The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI) in Goa has been awarded the ‘National Water Award 2024’ with the First Rank (in the Best Institution Other than School & College Inside-Campus category) for excellence in Campus Water Conservation. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, conferred the prestigious ‘6th National Water Award 2024’ on 18 November 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Patil. This national recognition honours ICAR-CCARI’s pioneering work in water-efficient research, conservation models and climate-resilient agricultural technologies, specifically designed for the coastal and Western Ghats agro-ecosystems.

After 14 years, 27 daily wage workers of SAG finally regularised
After 14 years of service on a nominal salary of Rs 10,000 per month, 27 daily wage workers have finally received long-awaited relief. Thanks to the efforts of sports minister Dr Ramesh Tawadkar and the newly-appointed executive director Dr Ajay Gaude, the workers have been regularised with temporary status. They are also set to receive arrears dating back to 2019, along with the full range of benefits typically accorded to permanent staff.
