Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, is the first college in Goa to receive official recognition for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)

Admissions to Vidya Prabodhini College’s BA BEd courses through NCET 2026 have begun

In a landmark achievement, Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, has become the first in Goa to gain recognition for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). The college has been granted official approval to conduct the four-year integrated BA-BEd programme under the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The ITEP programme, introduced as per the norms of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is a four-year integrated course that enables students to earn both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree simultaneously. The programme aims to prepare professionally qualified, competent and research-oriented teachers in line with national standards.

THE ADMISSION PROCESS

Admissions to the ITEP (BA BEd) programme will be conducted through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026, organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Eligible candidates who have passed Class XII can apply online through the official NTA portal. The entrance examination will be conducted through the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Admissions will be followed by counselling and document verification.

With this recognition, Vidya Prabodhini College has opened new avenues for aspiring teachers in Goa, enabling them to pursue nationally-recognised teacher education within the state itself.
