Portion of Tuem–Aroba–Dhargal bridge collapses, safety concerns rise

Residents have demanded an immediate PWD inspection and urgent safety measures to protect motorists

A portion of the old and narrow Tuem-Aroba-Dhargal bridge has collapsed, raising safety concerns among motorists and local residents. The damaged section has made it difficult for two vehicles to pass side by side, increasing the risk, particularly at night.

Locals have urged the PWD to conduct an immediate inspection, implement safety measures and expedite repairs, while also speeding up work on the proposed new wider bridge.
