Who has not heard of the great Mario de Miranda? In Goa, we are very familiar with his work and very proud of the artist – our very own cartoonist and illustrator, an artist who invites us to wonder, to smile.
This year, Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts, Panjim, in association with The Mustard Seed Art Company, is organising a special performance, with the latter taking a look at this great Goan through their original play, titled Mário Sossegado de Miranda: celebrating the artist.
Directed by Isabel Santa Rita Vas, the play is theatre, fiction, a heartfelt tribute to the beloved Goan artist. Sossegado? Calm and poised as a man, his eyes twinkled as they took in the world around.
