Michael, the biopic on the life of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, starring Jaafar Jackson, released in theatres worldwide on Friday, 24 April 2026. Despite receiving mixed to negative reviews, the film opened to a strong box office response in India and across international markets.
According to reports, the film collected over Rs 3 crore from 3,029 shows across the country, taking its India net opening-day total to more than Rs 5 crore, while grossing over $35 million in the United States.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael chronicles the life of music legend Michael Jackson. The role of Jackson is played by his real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson in his debut performance, while Juliano Krue Valdi portrays the younger version of the singer. The cast including Nia Long, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo, with Domingo and Long portraying Jackson’s parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson.
