Man dies of electric shock while checking water pump

A 33-year-old man, Yashwant Tolu Gaonkar from Satorli-Gaondongrim, died from an electric shock while checking a water pump at a farm well on Tuesday morning. 

Yashwant had gone to the well, around 300 metres from his home, after water failed to reach the house. He reportedly came into contact with an electrical wire and suffered a fatal electric shock. His body was found near the well later in the evening after his family began searching for him.

Canacona Police conducted a panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem. The incident has left his family, including his three-month-old daughter, devastated. Villagers have also demanded a tap water supply in the area.
