A leopard entered a guest house in Varchawada-Nanoskarwada around 1.30 am on Saturday morning, and attacked a dog before escaping into a nearby forest.
According to house owner Ulhas Naik, the leopard chased the dog to the first floor, attacked it, and then jumped around eight feet from the building before escaping into the nearby forest. The incident has caused fear among residents, who claim that the leopard has killed four dogs in the past six months.
Villagers said they had repeatedly approached the Forest Department and demanded immediate action. Residents have urged MLA Jit Arolkar to intervene and take up the matter with the Forest Department to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
