Kushavati district extends ban on swimming in water bodies

The move comes in light of the increasing drowning incidents at natural water bodies

District Magistrate, Kushavati District, has extended the ban on swimming, bathing, entering water, diving and cliff-jumping at waterfalls, abandoned quarries, rivers, lakes and similar natural water bodies, citing repeated drowning incidents.

Waterfall entry and authorised GFDC/GTDC eco-tourism visits remain permitted subject to safety rules. Government personnel and specifically authorised persons are exempted while on official duty. Violations are liable for legal action.
