The High Court has directed the Goa government to frame a state policy for tree translocation based on the recommendations of the court-appointed expert committee. For the Verna-Margao bypass road widening project, the court permitted the felling of 60 trees and directed authorities to translocate 120 young trees and 73 old trees along the project route.
