Govt plans revamp of mid-day meal supply system

The govt aims to plans to improve food quality and expand coverage in schools

The Goa government is considering changes to the PM POSHAN mid-day meal scheme by reorganising Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) handling meal distribution. The proposed move aims to improve food quality and delivery. Under the new plan, each SHG/PTA may serve around 1,200 to 1,500 students, while the role of Akshaya Patra Foundation may also be expanded.
