Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said several complaints have been received regarding high electricity bills, with the issue also being raised by MLAs in the Assembly. He advised consumers facing unusually high bills to first approach the Executive Engineer or Assistant Engineer. If the issue persists, Dhavalikar said the government may have to consider reducing electricity rates.
However, he said such a decision cannot be taken by him alone due to its financial implications and JERC regulations, adding that the government will need to discuss the matter and make a provision in the budget.
