Goa scientists achieve breakthrough in breeding rare native ornamental fish

A major conservation milestone has been achieved as scientists at ICAR-CCARI successfully developed captive breeding protocols for five indigenous ornamental freshwater fish species from Goa. 

The breakthrough is expected to reduce pressure on wild fish populations, support sustainable aquarium trade practices, and strengthen efforts to protect the state's rich freshwater biodiversity.
