Goa Revolution Day observed at Azad Maidan

Freedom fighters were honoured, while kin received appointment letters on the occasion

Goa Revolution Day was observed at Azad Maidan, Panjim, in the presence of the Governor of Goa Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister Shripad Naik, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, and other dignitaries. On the occasion, 27 descendants of freedom fighters were given appointment letters. Freedom fighters and their families were also honoured.

Vijay Baburao Thorat received Rs 10 lakh in financial assistance along with a certificate of appreciation. Representatives of Kesari and Tarun Bharat were felicitated for their contribution to preserving the history of Goa's liberation movement. Rohidas Desai, President of the Goa Daman and Diu Freedom Fighters Association, was present at the event.
