Goa Medical College to get 50 more MBBS seats

The additional seats will be introduced from the 2026–27 academic year, taking the total seat capacity to 250

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 50 additional MBBS seats for Goa Medical College (GMC), increasing the total intake from 200 to 250 from the 2026-27 academic year. 


Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the move will create more opportunities for aspiring medical students, especially Goan youth, and strengthen medical education in the state. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, and the National Medical Commission for their continued support.
