A rat reportedly entered a GMC ward during the night and bit a sleeping patient on his leg. The patient said he was initially unaware of the incident and only discovered what had happened when a nurse arrived at around 5 am to collect his blood sample, at which point he noticed blood on his leg.
The incident has raised serious concerns over hygiene and patient safety at the hospital. The patient questions how a rat was able to enter the ward and bite him while he was already undergoing treatment, and expressed concern over potential complications from the bite. He also sought accountability, questioning who would be responsible for the incident.
