Dalgado Konknni Akademi celebrates 39th Foundation Day

The event featured reflections on its history, Romi Konkani performances and certificates for quiz participants

Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) celebrated its 39th Foundation Day on August 28 at the Reginald Fernandes Conference Hall, Panjim.

Former Goa Assembly Speaker and former DKA President Tomazinho Cardozo spoke on the Akademi's history and formation, with the decision to establish DKA taken on August 28, 1988. DKA President Fr Myron Jeson Barreto highlighted its mission to promote Konkani in the Roman script. The event featured Romi Konkani songs, poetry and jokes, while participation certificates were presented to those who took part in the online quiz on DKA's history. The programme was compered by Agnelo Borim and Dr Glenis Mendonca, with Willy Goes proposing the vote of thanks.
