Carlos Alvares Ferreira questions ₹5.7 cr Atal Setu beautification plan

MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira has criticised the proposed Rs 5.7 crore spending on artistic painting and beautification of the Atal Setu bridge, terming it an unnecessary use of public money. He said the government should prioritise essential infrastructure like roads, electricity, and water supply instead of cosmetic projects. Ferreira further stated that the proposal contradicts the need for financial discipline and urged the government to stop the tender process and divert the funds towards urgent public requirements.
