Canacona sisters found dead; note and Rs 15,000 found

The two sisters, found dead at their Canacona residence, are suspected to have died days earlier

The bodies of sisters Rekha Kamat (78) and Medha Kamat (72), found at their Mokhard residence, are suspected to have been there for at least seven days, according to locals. Canacona Police have sent the bodies to Margao for postmortem. A note found with Rs 15,000, stating the money was to be used for their last rites, has led police to suspect that they may have taken their own lives. Investigations are underway.
