Ahead of the Chief Minister and TCP Minister's visit to Cuncolim on 17 April, local leaders Dr Jorson Fernandes, Elvis Gomes and Sammy Tavares have demanded the scrapping of Section 39A of the TCP Act. They extended support to the ‘Enough is Enough’ movement led by Justice (Retd) Ferdino Rebello and urged the government to accept his recommendations to repeal the section across Goa.
The leaders said the issue is linked to protecting Goa's land and identity and alleged that current policies are harming local interests amid rising development pressure.
