Goa's Al-powered traffic cameras recorded over 56,500 traffic violations on 4 July at 26 locations across the state during the pilot phase. Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said that most of the violations were for not wearing seat belts and driving without valid insurance.
Warning notices are currently being issued, while fines will begin on 15 July. He added that the Al camera network will be expanded to 52 locations by September, and 90 cameras by December to improve road safety and traffic discipline.
