Abhinandan Varthaman retires from IAF, joins Goa-based FLY91

The Vir Chakra awardee has joined the airline as a commercial pilot

Former IAF Group Captain and Vir Chakra awardee Abhinandan Varthaman has taken premature retirement from the Indian Air Force and joined Goa-based regional airline FLY91 as a commercial pilot.

Varthaman, who shot down a Pakistani F-16 during the 2019 India-Pakistan aerial combat, joined FLY91 in August, according to sources.
