The government distributed 5 lakh marigold plants to farmers helping save nearly ₹20 lakh on external planting material

Agriculture Director Chandrahas Naik Dessai said 5 lakh marigold plants were distributed to Goa farmers this year, saving nearly Rs 20 lakh on external planting material. With training, subsidies and a Centre of Excellence supporting cultivation, farmers are now seeing good yields ahead of Dussehra and Diwali. Marigold cultivation generated an estimated Rs 2 crore turnover last year,” he informed.
